So once again I'm bored at work and I decided to update my journal. Last time I just wrote the entry, then e-mailed it to myself and did the actual updating once I got home. But today, I'm using RealVNC to control my computer remotely, so I should actually be able to post this update as soon as I'm finished writing. (Sympatico only allows FTP access to your webspace when you are connected via their service.)

Like I said, I'm very bored. Which doesn't make sense at all, because counting this week, I only have three weeks left of work, so I should really be concentrating on making a good start on this project. It doesn't look like I'll be able to finish my part of the project in my time here, but I should at least have a good chunk started for the next person. I also have my work term report that I should be working on. I think I might try to get some books for it from the Skills Centre later today, if I can work up enough gumption. So I think you can see why it's puzzling that I'm bored.

Jocelyn's visit has come and gone, but her vacation lives on, since she has just moved on to Kingston to visit another friend there. I actually ended up taking Thursday and Friday off so we could spend a bit more time together. We had great time while she was here, but it went by super fast! And now that she's gone, I have to face the reality of ending my work term, writing the steenking report, moving all my stuff back home, and finding a place to live in Charlottetown. Nothing has changed as far as the apartment hunt is concerned. Well, it's going to be awhile before I find out if Luke gets his job or not, because the person making the hiring decision has gone on vacation.

But I don't really feel like I've earned the right to complain, because it's mostly all my fault, with me being so lazy and all. So let's talk about other things. Canadian Idol... based on last night's performances (but also taking into consideration past performances), I think Mikey Bustos and Tyler Hamilton should be the ones voted out. However, they seem to have a lot of support, so I think it's more likely to be Ryan Malcolm and Gary Beals who go. Gary did have a bad performance - he was really sharp. But I still think he deserves to stay. Same with Audrey. I thought she sounded out of breath, but her past performances show that she was just having an off-night. Oh, so who did I vote for? Jenny Gear. I have always liked her, though I haven't really picked a favourite yet. But I think that if she got voted off tonight, I would be upset, and that's more than I can say for most of the other contestants. I called in many many votes. And now I wish I'd counted so I'd have an idea of what kind of impact I actually made. In any case, I think she is safe for tonight. She had a really great performance last night. Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now. Things will probably get interesting soon as I get ready to return to the Island!
