Hello all. Just a quick update before I go to bed. I hope everyone likes the new design. I've added two more pages - Photos and About. BUT, before you go look at those pages, I'll warn you now that they don't have any content yet. Hehe. I just felt like making the new icons so the menu would be more complete. I've never had a photo section on my site before, so I think it will be interesting to share my (now rather large) collection of photos. I'm looking forward to seeing how I can use JavaScript to organize them like I did with the archives. But enough about the site...

This week has been pretty slack at work. My team is getting pretty close to a major release of our product, so it's mostly just tidy up work these days, and not much of it gets assigned to me. This has been driving me slightly nuts, but I'm going to try to use the time to start working on my topic proposal for my work term report. I wrote to my team asking if any one had any ideas, and one of my co-workers actually gave me a great suggestion for it. So that was nice.

I'm am getting so excited and anxious lately. I don't think I mentioned it before, but I'm buying a new computer with my income tax refund. It's an IBM ThinkPad R40, which I'm getting through the Employee Purchase Program. IBM computers are quite expensive, but I'm saving a whopping $1500 on it compared to the price for the public. That makes the price comparable to those of cheaper notebooks like Dells and HPs. It should be similar to the one pictured in this article. The estimated arrival date is sometime next week, so my fingers are crossed that it will come before I head home on Thursday (!) so that I'll have something to play with on the plane.

I am totally ready for this computer. I have a name picked out already, which I'll share with you later. (For those of you who don't know, I call my current computer, a Compaq Presario 5330, Penelope.) I bought a new set of really nice yet inexpensive Yamaha speakers since my old ones go with my old computer, which I'm selling to my sister. I also bought a crossover networking cable so I can transfer my files onto my ThinkPad. Finally, I redeemed some of my PC Points for some rentals from Blockbuster. My computer has a DVD/CD-RW drive, so I'm looking forward to watching movies and making my own music CDs.

There are 4 free rentals with the card I got, and up until tonight I knew exactly what movies I wanted to get. Most are based on Noella's suggestions. They are: The Rules of Attraction, The Ring, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Harry Potter: The Chamber of Secrets. Now I'm not so sure about The Ring. For starters, Jeff says he won't watch it with me because it is supposed to be super scary. And tonight I found a centipede in my apartment. It's the third one I've found so far, and I'm starting to get really creeped out. They have long skinny legs, and they scurry along the floor when they sense you. I mentioned this to Noella, and she says there is a scene in The Ring with centipedes. I'm not sure if I can handle that right now.

I haven't been out in ages, so I'm really looking forward to this Saturday. Jeff and I are taking Mo to a gay club. I believe it will be his first time. I really think it's something he needs to experience, and I'm glad that we'll have someone to go out with to a dance club, because no one else we know really likes that type of thing. I'm also looking forward to getting nicely liquored up. It's been awhile. Nope, they don't drink in the T-dot like the do on the east coast!

Well, I should get to bed. I'm hoping to get up early enough to wash dishes and get to work at a decent hour. As if. But I can dream. Oh, I hope I dream! Did I ever tell you how much I love dreaming? I guess it's because I don't dream much, or I just don't remember the dreams I do have. But my dreams are rarely too scary, so they usually just provide good entertainment. Here's wishing myself sweet ones :)

Well, I finally got the gumption to put some work into my website. I have the archives all back up now, and I got the menu working how I want it to. Eventually I'll adjust the other parts of the site to match the new design and get them back online too. Unfortunately, I don't have time to write a full update because I'm going to Jeff's for the evening to watch the Junos. But I do want to get this work posted before I go. So, sorry, but this is all I have for now :) Expect more soon.
