Alanis Morissette Parodies "My Humps"

I assume that by now most of you have seen Alanis Morissette's parody/cover of the Black Eyed Peas' "My Humps" on YouTube. I think the video is hilarious, and the song is really funny to hear sung slowly with clear enunciation. It also justplainsoundsgood (because of Alanis' amazing voice), so I can actually take it seriously and sing along to it just as earnestly as Alanis does. If my iPod wasn't sadly underused now that I have a car, I'm sure I'd be listening to it constantly.

I've been trying to figure out why she did this, but so far all I've come up with is that it was an April Fool's joke. I'm wondering if (and hoping that) this means she's ready to start making music again. I read on her MySpace page that she was taking a break for personal reasons, but there was no date associated with that text, so I don't know if it's current or not. Her official site hasn't been updated with any news in months.

I guess I'd be sad too if I had recently broken up with Ryan Reynolds. Dave says she needs to channel those emotions into music, though. At least she still has a sense of humour.
